Meet Dr. Galan
Dr. Vincent Galan has practiced in the Atlanta area since 1988. In addition to being Director of its Anesthesia Department, he held the distinguished position of Director of Pain Center at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Georgia from 1990 until 2008. In 2008 he founded his own practice, Pain Care, with the mission of providing every patient with exceptional service that includes a cost-effective, comprehensive, and ethical pain management program. Dr. Galan has the goal of exceeding the expectations of not only the injured patient, but also that of their referring physician.

Dr. Galan is actively involved in investigational pharmaceutical and device studies where he can not only offer his patients some of the latest medications before they get to the market, but also help advance our knowledge of the treatment of pain.
Dr. Galan is board certified in Anesthesia; triple boarded in Pain Medicine by the American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM), the American Board of Anesthesiology’s (ABA) Subspecialty Certification in Pain Management, and the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians (ABIPP); he also has a fifth board certification in Addiction Medicine by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).
Additionally, Dr. Galan has been contributed to the examination and test writing process for the three above mentioned national pain organizations. Dr. Galan completed his pain fellowship at Downstate Medical Center – SUNY. He then continued to Hermann Hospital, University of Texas, where he had the distinction to train as a visiting fellow with the well-renown Dr. P. P. Raj, Professor of Anesthesia at the University of Texas and Director of its Pain Clinic.

Dr. Galan is a past contributor to the international journal “Pain Digest” and a past medical reviewer for the publishing company Williams and Wilkins. Currently, he serves in the Editorial Board as a Reviewer for Pain Medicine Case Reports - a Clinical Companion Journal to Pain Physician and he is in the North American Neuromodulation Society Abstract Review Committee.
He also served on the U.S. Advisory Board of Nasalfentanyl, a product for breakthrough Cancer Pain from Archimedes Pharmaceutical and the Advisory Board for Vertiflex (Totalis). Dr Galan has received Research Grants from Boston Scientific, St. Jude Medical, Nevro Corp., and Medtronic, for which he has been a consultant.
